Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden | part 1

This week on my day off I took myself on a mini road trip to Dallas. I had been itching to get out of Austin for awhile, so I was really excited for this day. After searching popular Dallas destinations I decided to head out to the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden.

After 2.5 hours of driving and really bad gps directions I make it to the destination only to find out it costs $15 to park, and another $15 to enter the gardens. If I had checked the website before leaving town I probably would have chosen a different location, but I'm glad I decided to go despite the unexpected cost.

Throughout the day I spotted various photo shoots. There was a couple taking engagement photos, and another woman was having her wedding dress photographed. There was even a young lady taking photos for her quinceanera. It was a really peaceful sunny day full of flowers, and people of all ages enjoying the gardens.

It was cool to see all the different benches and gardens dedicated to or donated by various people.

After walking around for three hours I started getting hunger cramps, so I treated myself to a calzone at Old Chicago Pizza. On the drive home I made a pit stop in a friends city to say "Hey!" in person. Overall the day was really relaxing, and maybe one day I'll go again when they have a special event.

Have you ever been to a botanical garden? Would you be interested in going?
